Shirogane Noel Tames Her First Lumina in ARK With Usada Pekora Coaching
The tame came about nine hours into a stream that ran nearly 11 and a half hours, after Noel raced the in-game clock through a memory minigame.
HOLOLIVE — Shirogane Noel tamed her first Lumina in ARK on Monday, with Usada Pekora guiding her through the process on the Hololive server. The creature, a silver Lumina that Noel named Lumina Taro, was hers about nine hours and 17 minutes into a stream that ran nearly 11 and a half hours.
The tame is a multi-stage affair. Noel geared up with equipment Pekora handed over, then hunted the creature in the desert while the in-game night approached. The stages that followed, as Pekora coached her through them, included a button-sequence memory minigame and a section in which Noel flew at an angle and shot orbs of light. The stream dropped out partway through, and Noel hurried back to the creature before the in-game deadline. When the last stage cleared, the map updated and Pekora said the Lumina would change how Noel plays the game.
“I never thought I’d actually be able to tame a Lumina. Thank you for inviting me.” — Shirogane Noel, after the tame
Earlier, Noel had spent the opening hours trying to expand her base with imported building templates, but the first design was too large for her clifftop plot and a Japanese-style alternative felt too small, so no new build was settled that night. Around the four-hour mark she performed a short skit in a different voice, and shortly before the five-hour mark a wyvern she had just called lucky died, so she began breeding a replacement.
Chat filled with congratulations once the tame landed, and the stream drew 20 Super Chats and Stickers. Noel closed the broadcast saying she wants to take another run at the base next, find a saddle for her Lumina and tame more of the creature.
