Vantacrow Bringer played the horror game No, I’m Not a Human for the first time on a solo run, voicing each of its characters and reaching two of its endings over a stream of just under three and a half hours.

In the game, a heat-scorched world is overrun by creatures called visitors that pass as people. Each night the player decides which strangers to let into the house, and must check them against warning signs announced on in-game news broadcasts, among them white teeth, red eyes, hairless armpits and dirty fingernails. Vantacrow Bringer said he had played part of the game in an earlier group stream around Halloween a year ago but never finished it, and wanted to beat it alone this season.

“I think I really like voicing the pale man. He was probably my favorite one.” — Vantacrow Bringer, after reaching the second ending

Before the game started, he spent about 15 minutes with chat. Viewers asked him to name a child, and he asked whether they would like a room-sharing stream or a show-and-tell of their collections; chat answered with offers to show merchandise and rooms. During play he worked through the dilemmas aloud: whether to let in a stranger who might be a visitor and risk the one person he had confirmed as human, when to spend a limited supply of cat food, and why the in-game kombucha mattered, since it was the only way to save. Chat laughed along as a grieving girl arrived at the door and as he pushed back on the characters he judged suspicious.

The first ending came with the household sealed in the cellar, a wait that stretched for nearly two months and ended in death. Another run of the final days ended with a radio announcement that solar activity was fading. Afterward he said his voice was tired, that one playthrough was enough for now, and that he was glad he had played the game. Viewers told him there are 10 or more endings, including a pregnancy ending, a hunter ending and a survivor ending.

He said a one-on-one collaboration with Sunny planned for the next day had fallen through and would be rescheduled, and that he was considering a solo Don’t Starve stream to prepare for a group collaboration. He also took viewer suggestions for more horror visual novels he could voice, including Papers, Please and Slay the Princess.
