Kawasaki Sui Concedes an Island, Then Wins a Tournament, in Romancing SaGa 3
After losing repeatedly to a water boss that healed 999 a turn, the streamer let the island sink and moved on to a town tournament and a holy grail quest.
INDEPENDENT — Kawasaki Sui spent a Monday-night stream of more than four hours on Romancing SaGa 3, losing to a water boss she could not out-damage, giving up on saving a doomed island, and then winning a tournament and recovering a holy grail.
She opened at about 23:30, saying she had overslept again, and described herself as being in good shape after a long nap. About 15 hours into the game, she started at the island at the edge of the world. The boss there healed 999 HP every turn and kept hitting her party with a group attack called Squall. She swapped equipment, put water-resistant gear on her two strongest attackers and went back in, but the party kept falling. Her conclusion was that the fight could not be won with the gear she had, and that the island would sink.
“I already have wonderful companions.” — Kawasaki Sui, declining to recruit Leonid
Later she moved on to a town where she entered a tournament, which she said was not what she had pictured. The brackets were filled with monsters, and her party won with two members left standing. The organizer then asked her to take back a holy grail held by a vampire. She pushed through the castle of Leonid, a character she had met earlier, collected the grail and left without recruiting him. A second boss attempt earlier in the night, against an enemy with roughly 28,000 HP that also healed 999 a turn, had ended in a defeat and a return to the last save.
Chat spent the night trading tips on skill sparking and equipment, and 941 messages came in, including 18 paid messages. Sui ended the stream a little after four hours, said she streams most days from around 11 p.m., and said the next night would be a *zatsudan*, or chat stream.
