Maria Marionette spent a stream of about four and a half hours on the newly updated Village in the Shade, a farming game, raising friendship with the townspeople to unlock cutscenes and planting fields for the coming season. She said her back problem was still not fully fixed, so she planned to keep the session on the shorter side.

The update adds a new area, new furniture and new animals, she said, along with a farmland plot that is not square like the others. She noted that the ducks now eat everything, and that the next patch, with birthday events for the protagonist and other features, is due on the 27th. When viewers asked about an English version of the game, she said one was set to be released this month, believed to be near the end of it, and that players choose a language at the start and cannot switch midway.

“I’m keeping the streams shorter so that I don’t sit for too long.” — Maria Marionette, closing the stream

The longest stretch of the stream went to planting. Standing over the fields, Maria Marionette counted plots and rows out loud to work out how many seeds she needed, arrived at 275, then revised the total to 260 and finally 255 as she planted some along the way. She then bought more seeds, including watermelon, until the fields were covered. She also described the game’s nights as partly horror and very hard.

Between farming chores she told viewers about a nosebleed that struck her in her sleep the night before, and about a school-days train ride on which she soaked through five wet tissues handed to her by strangers. She also recalled a stretch in her high school days when she averaged one to two hours of sleep a night for a year while juggling dance practice and a part-time job.

Maria Marionette said the extra farmland would have to wait until the next stream. She said tomorrow’s stream would be a membership stream at night, and that the next regular stream would be an announcement stream on Friday at 8 p.m. Chat closed the stream with thanks and wishes that she rest and recover, and the stream drew three paid messages.
