Maemi Tenma Tours VRChat Halloween House With Erina Makina and Remilia Nephys

Motion sickness cut the group’s search for a red key short, and the stream ended about 80 minutes in.

Maemi Tenma of Phase Connect spent a Halloween stream exploring a themed VRChat world with fellow Phase Connect talents Erina Makina and Remilia Nephys, a tour that ran from a lantern-lit village to a multi-floor haunted house.

The opening minutes turned on the group’s difference in size. Avatars of very different heights met at the spawn point, and one participant joked that she could pick another up. Chat compared the scene to Gandalf visiting the hobbits. The group then looked over the map’s details, including hidden references on walls and rooftops, a giant sword they tried to pull from its stone, and masks modeled on Phase Connect members that they put on for photos.

About 23 minutes in, the group entered the haunted house, going in on a three-count. Inside they followed glowing lamps through narrow corridors and a locker-lined maze, and a figure that rushed toward them drew screams and a loud reaction in chat. Upstairs they met a giant skeleton that trailed them without attacking, a long-nailed lamp-oil creature, a stout hamster mascot and a witch’s cauldron.

A locked door that needed a red key became the group’s goal, and they searched both floors without finding it. Several participants said the VR movement was making them dizzy, and from about the one-hour mark they crawled, rolled and dragged themselves along the floor between jokes about wheelchair racing. At one point they tried a stunt to reach the door, and it failed.

They headed for the hot spring to wrap up, mistook a spa area for it on the way, and agreed to end the stream as the dizziness worsened and a headset battery ran low. Chat urged Tenma to take a break and sent her off with her “otsukitsu” sign-off. The stream drew four paid messages.
