Nawa Tsumugu Spends Day 24 of Sutogura Season 2 as a Riddle-Setting Stranger
The YUMENOS streamer also sat through the city’s in-game premiere of a 90-minute dating-show film before an in-game fortune reading ended his night.
YUMENOS — Nawa Tsumugu of YUMENOS spent Friday evening on Day 24 of Sutogura Season 2, a GTA role-play city, in the character of Butterfly, a mysterious figure who had posted a riddle on the city’s in-game social network and was waiting for someone to solve it.
Nawa opened the stream by saying a practice session that had kept him away the day before had been called off, so he could play after all. He said he had made up his mind to play the part of a fixer for the whole day. He read out a hint to the riddle, “the thread of this riddle is you and me,” and explained that he had deleted and reposted the original message after a typo in it was pointed out. Hours later, speaking in character to players who asked, he said nobody had yet reached the final answer, and that he had meant the puzzle to be simple. He told a police officer he had promised to turn himself in once it was solved, and when a player asked, he gave his shoe size.
“A mystery exists to be solved.” — Nawa Tsumugu, in character as Butterfly, answering a player in a café
Between riddle talks he worked a shift at Sunny Kebab, greeting customers and filling large orders of food and drinks. The centerpiece of the night was the premiere of Los Jotto, a love-reality film made by players in the city, shown on a big screen to a seated audience. Nawa had returned his ticket the day before when he thought he could not play, then bought one of the last tickets on the day. The film, about 90 minutes long, followed a cast of former gang members on mini-golf, kart and sauna dates and a barbecue, and ended with each of them making a choice about whom to confess to.
Afterward he said the evening had him thinking that a scripted, 90-minute staged production could be done with the right people, and that watching other people’s events was good study. He then went back to being Butterfly, questioning shop and café staff in character. At one café he ordered ten pancakes and told a player who asked whether he wanted people to solve it that a mystery exists to be solved.
Late in the stream he joined friends for an in-game ghost hunt, then paid an in-game fortune teller for a tarot reading on love and work. The reading pointed to an introduction through a third party in November and, on the work side, a possible job change. Nawa signed off after about six hours, saying he was too sleepy to carry on and had nodded off during the reading.
