Cygnus Spends a Typhoon Day Off Chatting About a Disney Trip and a Bitten Jacket
The streamer opened a Friday morning stream with breakfast and weather talk, then closed it with a warning to stay indoors as the wind picked up.
SQUARELIVE — Cygnus, of SquareLive’s Xtreme Deep Field Project, went on air Friday morning on a typhoon day off, greeting viewers with a check on whether everyone had slept enough. The stream ran about four hours and 13 minutes and was billed as a chat stream about moving house and whether she could leave Disney behind.
Early on she talked through her morning. The breakfast shop downstairs was unusually full for a place she said is normally quiet, and she had already eaten an extra-large egg pancake. She also noticed that a hot pot restaurant near her home looked open, and wondered aloud whether she could go there for lunch.
“Don’t think you can hold up against the wind and rain. The scariest things are the signs, tiles and branches that come flying.” — Cygnus, near the end of the stream
Later stretches turned to a recent trip to a Disney park. She said her group of eight arrived around 10 a.m., bought souvenirs, then ate early at a restaurant while it was nearly empty, where the chicken nuggets came in the shape of Mickey Mouse. She also said she had bought more souvenirs than she expected, picking things up as she passed them. In another stretch she described queuing for a pop-up shop and buying one of each item that was left, for about 3,000 Taiwan dollars. Elsewhere she mentioned a knee injury that had her keeping her leg raised at home, as her doctor advised.
Near the close, the talk moved to parrots. She said large macaws were among the priciest she had heard of, and that a strong bite could crack a walnut. She recalled holding out her hand, wrapped in a sun-protection jacket, to a bird at a market in Wanhua, only for it to bite two holes through the sleeve. She then said she had to leave for a meeting and would be back that evening, and urged viewers to stay home, or go out early if they had to, because the wind would grow stronger through the day.
