Pekora, Su, Watame and Kanade Team Up for Co-op Horror Game Invokyr
The four Hololive talents spent two hours and 20 minutes dying, reviving and carrying gold statues back through a shifting mansion.
HOLOLIVE — Usada Pekora, Mizumiya Su, Tsunomaki Watame and Otonose Kanade played the cooperative horror game Invokyr together on Tuesday, in a stream on Pekora’s channel that ran 2 hours and 20 minutes. The four spent most of it separated, killed and brought back to life while hauling statues out of a mansion that kept changing around them.
Each talent introduced herself in turn at the start, and the group joked that they had picked a lineup that was easy to tease. Pekora said she did not know what kind of game it was. The goal, as the group read it out, was to recover gold statues, three at a time, and carry them back to a board. Rolling a die changed the house and set off the next trial, and carrying a statue shrank the character who held it. An armed man roamed the halls, and early on one player was shot down to 30 health.
“I honestly don’t know what kind of game it is, but let’s cooperate and do our best.” — Usada Pekora, introducing herself at the start
The trials varied from board to board: picking safe tiles on a floor that was giving way, walking with left and right reversed, and a stretch in which mannequins crept forward whenever nobody was looking at them, so the players took turns watching while others moved ahead. At one point two players’ controls became linked, and the group fumbled to steer a character that was no longer theirs. Between boards the players sold off spare dice for money and spent it on health and speed upgrades. Late in the stream one player bought a guitar and played it as the others tried to find their way back.
A few moments stood out. Around the 48-minute mark Pekora closed a door while the group was being chased, and chat called her a frenemy. Later she turned into a fire-breathing dragon, and the others were told to stay clear of her. Revival dice came up repeatedly, and the group found some of them were fakes.
The stream drew nearly 40,000 chat messages and nine Super Chats. Chat was busiest at the opening, when viewers filled the screen with carrot emotes, and again around the door scene. The four closed by thanking viewers, saying they would play again, and chanting the game’s name to sign off.
