Isekat Developer Joins Chat as Shiori Novella Plays Cat Typing Game

The game’s maker dropped in more than two hours into the stream, and the talk of a cheat code that followed ran to the end of the broadcast.

The developer of the typing game Isekat showed up in Shiori Novella’s chat on her stream, and the talent spent much of the final half hour joking about whether she would use a cheat code for the game’s catnip currency. The Hololive English -Advent- member played the game for about two and a half hours.

Isekat opens with a cat crushed by a computer and a kitten summoned to a fantasy world, where a human player’s typing is the only weapon against an invading dog army. Shiori Novella typed words to block attacks and defeat enemies, then spent the catnip she collected to rescue cats and unlock permanent upgrades. She said the grind was her one complaint with an otherwise cute game, and added that she liked its mix of 2D and 3D art.

“Thank you for the cheat code I didn’t use.” — Shiori Novella, joking about the developer’s offer

She also measured herself early on, saying she types at 109 words per minute with 98% accuracy, a figure she called average. Between levels she wandered into tangents, from the first episode of The Boondocks she had watched that morning to nautical terms she and chat worked out together: bow, stern, port, starboard and keel.

When the developer appeared, chat urged her to take the cheat code and unlock infinite catnip. She turned it into a bit, weighing how a cheat would look on stream and whether she could hide it with a crop, before saying she would keep grinding. She later thanked the developer for the code she said she had not used, and noted the developer’s next game is a fishing game.

Shiori Novella said she has a collaboration the next day, and that something would be shown then. She also said she planned to play Poppy Playtime the following week, after wanting a calmer game this week. Chat cleared out of the stream with goodbyes and hearts as she signed off.
