Hiyori Mokami of Glitch Stars returned to Ace Combat 8 for her second session with the game, saying she was playing it for the first time and that she had enjoyed it more than she expected. She said she had never played a flying game before, and that she was using expert controls.

She explained that about two weeks earlier she had been put on vocal rest on doctor’s orders, partly because she screamed too much, and that she had set herself a two-hour limit per stream. She said she used to stream four to five hours at a time. She spent the opening minutes joking that someone at home would “kill me in my sleep” if the stream ran long.

“If you’re here for advanced gameplay, it’s not me. But if you’re here to watch me scream and cry and pee my pants, then you’re in a great place.” — Hiyori Mokami, during the naval strike mission

The first mission was a naval strike on enemy fleets at a harbor, after an allied island turned against the main force. She bought and equipped weapons and parts at chat’s suggestion, struggled to turn and aim, and told viewers she did not know what she was doing. She said the game’s tips about targets and missiles were helping, and the harbor fleet fell about an hour and 12 minutes in.

The next mission, a timed assault to cover a landing force, went harder. A land battleship’s long-range gun forced the landing craft to turn back, and Mokami said she was stressed by the radio chatter and the railgun warnings. She said she had spent the stream playing the same mission twice. At one point she set her controller down to drink water, and chat teased her about it. When the clock passed two hours she asked whether she could squeeze in one more mission, then decided that her health came first.

Chat answered with flying tips, including reminders to give wingmen orders and to level out before maneuvering, along with jokes about the crashes. Six paid messages came in. Mokami closed by saying she would hold an Ace Combat music listening stream on the weekend, that more Ace Combat might come this week, and that her schedule was up in the air because she had also been playing a lot of Nikke.
