Hiyori Mokami Reads NIKKE Chapter 48 for the First Time and Catches Up With the Story
The Glitch Stars streamer finished the latest main-story chapter in just over two hours, after saying her streams will be shorter for the next two months.
GLITCH STARS — Hiyori Mokami, a Glitch Stars streamer, read Chapter 48 of NIKKE, the game’s latest main-story chapter, for the first time on stream and finished about two hours and nine minutes in, saying she was finally caught up with the story. She said she had muted story-related terms on Twitter and unfollowed the game’s accounts to avoid spoilers, and she warned viewers the chapter was full of them.
Before starting, she told viewers she had recently seen a doctor and been told she has vocal nodules, so her streams for the next two months will run about two to two and a half hours. She also said her cover duet of “Satellites” with Nano had premiered in the pre-show of the game’s anniversary live stream, which she said about 15,000 people watched, and called it a huge honor.
“I did it though. I caught up to the story and now I don’t have to be spoiled anymore.” — Hiyori Mokami, after finishing Chapter 48
The chapter opened with the Counters firing on the Lift and a swarm of Raptures pouring out. Mokami followed Rapunzel’s confrontation with Red Shoes inside a shared digital space, where Rapunzel turned the tables, and then the farewell between Scarlet and Rose, after which she said she had to wipe her face. When Scarlet and Rapunzel returned in new outfits and drove off the two heretics, she praised the designs, and chat filled with reactions to Rapunzel’s new weapon.
The chapter’s final stretch hit hardest. Dorothy was corrupted during the attack on the missile Annihilo, and Anderson then rose from his support device. Mokami said she was “so upset” about Dorothy. Chat was busiest at that moment, and seven Super Chats came in over the stream.
Mokami said she had a meeting to attend and planned to return about an hour and a half later, at roughly 6:30 p.m. Pacific time, to watch the game’s fourth anniversary live stream.
