Fura Kanato Returns to Deadlock, Calls New Character Nurse’s Ultimate Overwhelming
The Nijisanji streamer spent more than four hours in ranked matches, aiming for Platinum before the season ends.
NIJISANJI — Fura Kanato, a Nijisanji streamer in the 1mVOLTACTION group, went back to Deadlock on Monday after about five days away from the game, opening a stream of more than four hours by looking back on an Overwatch tournament the night before. He said he had a good time and had learned a lot from his teammates, and he praised their play and teamwork.
Before queuing, he finished the last 15 wins of a Wraith challenge, then spent time in the hero selection screen reading through the abilities of the newest character, Nurse, whom he had only seen in videos. He described a fear-inflicting ultimate with a very wide area, and later caught on in a match that the character takes no damage while channeling it. In the last game of the night he said Nurse’s ultimate was so strong that the only answer was to turn your back and run.
“I want to enter a Deadlock tournament. I’m believing that someday Deadlock catches on.” — Fura Kanato, recalling the Overwatch event he had just played
Most of the stream was ranked play on Wraith, a character he said had been strong lately and one he had studied through overseas pro players’ use of its blink ability. He said his rank was climbing and that, with about 10 days left in the season, Platinum looked within reach. He also said he wanted to sharpen his movement and mechanics. One match ended in a quick loss that he laughed off with the remark that such games happen.
Between matches he said he wanted to take part in a Deadlock tournament someday, and wondered whether a community event might exist. Chat welcomed him back with messages of “welcome home” and congratulations on the Overwatch result. Six Super Chats came in during the stream.
Closing the stream, he said he was not sure he could stream the next day, but that a collab short would go up on his channel then.
