Nyamamugi Tart and Nyamashiro Soda Run a Ramen Shop in Simulator Until a Critic Walks In
Tart played manager and Soda the part-timer in a collab settled that same day, with new hires, a beer server and a taxi-borne critic along the way.
NYANTASIA! — Nyamamugi Tart and Nyamashiro Soda, both of Nyantasia!, spent about two and a half hours running a virtual ramen shop together on Tuesday, playing Japanese Ramen Simulator as manager and part-timer. Along the way they hired staff, added a beer server and finally served a food critic who arrived by taxi.
Soda opened by saying the collab had only been settled around noon that day, when Tart got in touch out of the blue. Tart explained that a new hamster had recently joined the family and that she had meant to ask Soda, a senior colleague, for advice, but remembered a game she wanted to play and invited Soda to it instead. Tart took the manager’s chair and told Soda to follow orders, and Soda introduced herself to viewers as the new hire. The two toasted with drinks they had fetched and opened the doors.
“This is fun. You could play it forever.” — Nyamamugi Tart and Nyamashiro Soda, midway through the shift
The premise was that Soda owed Tart 1 million yen and could not leave the shop until it was paid off, a sum the pair put at roughly $6,400 in the game. The first customer paid $18, which they put at about 2,300 yen. Water and toppings such as seaweed cost extra, no change was given, and one early customer walked off with only a glass of water. Sales stood at $340 after about 46 minutes and $432 at the 58-minute mark, when the game showed an S grade the pair said they had never seen.
Mishaps piled up. The stove was left burning, which once led to a fire and a scramble for the extinguisher, and thieves kept turning up until the pair bought a throwing star. It stuck in one thief, who ran off with it. As the shop leveled up they unlocked garlic, cabbage and menma toppings, then hired part-timers, including Anjulina, Neo-taro, who fetched dirty dishes, and Fuwanosuke, who was seen dozing on shift. A beer server arrived later.
The game then announced a day for critics only, and one walked in after arriving by taxi, arms crossed. The pair built a bowl with menma, garlic and green onion, and the critic drained the soup. The visit earned a critic’s trophy, which they set out by the counter, and unlocked miso broth, which the pair noted was selling well. Near the end they bought two- and four-seat tables, put some outdoors, and reached level 10.
Viewers sent Super Chats written as mock restaurant reviews, complete with star ratings, which the pair read out and answered in character. Closing the stream, Tart said she would like to try the game with more players next time and that a chat stream would follow the next day.
