Hana Macchia Spends a Game Week Resisting Fishing in Fields of Mistria
Playing the farming sim for the first time, the Nijisanji streamer made avoiding the fishing rod the stream’s running challenge and ended it with the town bridge repaired.
NIJISANJI — Hana Macchia played Fields of Mistria for the first time in a stream that ran about two and a half hours, covering one full in-game week. Having named “ignore fishing” as the stream’s side mission in the first minutes, Hana held to it through the whole session and said at the close that the plan was to keep playing the game as a farming sim and stay away from the rod.
The stream opened at character creation, where Hana joked about a non-binary “vibe” and then admitted that disliking labels was itself a kind of box. Hana named the farm “Farm.” with the period, then walked the town of Mistria meeting its residents: a beefy neighbor with a horse, a blacksmith family, a bathhouse owner, a museum curator and a bug-loving boy. Chat noticed the cast quickly and Hana reacted aloud to each new face.
“I’m going to try to earnestly play this as a farm simulator and play the farming part.” — Hana Macchia, near the end of the stream
The running gag was romance. Hana was openly disappointed when an older woman in town turned out not to be romanceable, then declared the town doctor “on trial” after learning that a dragon figure could be a romance option too. Hana kept handing the doctor turnips and flowers, and later gave a gruff blacksmith some fiber just to see whether he would insult it. Along the way Hana repaired the town’s guardian shrine, was warned off staying out late after an unplanned collapse, and lost a day’s worth of turnips by selling them before learning they could be sliced.
A short break came at about the half-hour mark, when Hana restarted the stream after noticing an internet hiccup. Later a Friday night at the inn brought a card game, a tabletop role-playing session and a planned heist among the townsfolk, and Hana debated whether leaving early would be rude. Near the end a cat named Milo opened a door on its own, which Hana found genuinely alarming, and Hana finished by depositing the materials for the broken bridge. The town repaired it on screen.
Hana closed by asking viewers to write in the comments how to read the game’s character names and whether they wanted more of it, saying the stream was shorter than usual because it was already night.
