Mii Reis Finishes Dragon Prep in Minecraft Series, Says Finale Could Come Wednesday
The independent streamer set up a tree farm, brewed her first potions and recruited villagers over a stream of more than four hours.
INDEPENDENT — Mii Reis wrapped up most of the preparation for her Minecraft Ender Dragon fight on Tuesday, building an automatic tree farm, brewing potions and stocking a new base over a stream of more than four hours. She said that if all goes well, the series will end on Wednesday.
The day was the fifth in the series. She opened by saying an internet outage the night before had cut her last session short, and that she had finished a Create-mod contraption offline: waterwheels had not supplied enough speed to run it, so she turned a hand crank instead. On stream she followed a tutorial video to build the tree farm, working through a puzzle of machine parts and glue blocks before switching it on about an hour in. It was soon producing logs, apples and sticks, and she later shut it off, saying she had all the wood she needed.
“I know I’m going to die about 500,000 times, but I wanted to beat it the hard way.” — Mii Reis, on skipping dragon tutorials
With wood to spare, she built out a house with lanterns, storage chests and a dedicated potion area, and made a backpack for food. Brewing was new to her. She spent a stretch reading up on which potions to make, settled on healing and strength, and made several mistakes along the way, including turning out plain potions after pouring in the wrong ingredient. To get Nether wart, a key ingredient, she went back to a Nether fortress, where mobs harried her as she gathered 35 pieces, and she planted a small farm of her own. By the end she had strength potions lasting eight minutes and splash healing potions.
She also spent a long stretch hauling villagers across snowy terrain to her base, hoping to turn one into a cleric for trades. Several took unwanted jobs along the way, and she penned one in to keep it in place. Earlier in the stream, a chat joke about her committing a crime turned into a mock trial, with viewers volunteering as judges, lawyers and jury, and she sang a short stretch of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” on request, admitting she had forgotten the opening lines. A few Super Chats came in during the stream.
Her plan for Wednesday is to collect more diamonds, craft and enchant several diamond swords and a bow, and build an experience farm before heading to the dragon. She said she had avoided watching dragon guides on purpose. She also said she was weighing longer streams after seeing more viewers able to drop in.
