DipperDog Fells Mergo’s Wet Nurse in Bloodborne After Hours of Retries and Farming
A detour into blood echo farming and a chalice dungeon preceded the win, which came with a hammer and about 250 blunt attack.
INDEPENDENT — DipperDog defeated Mergo’s Wet Nurse in Bloodborne about two hours and 56 minutes into a stream of roughly four hours, a boss fight she had named in the stream’s title and had been trying to finish since the first half hour.
The early attempts went badly. She said she had not played the game in three days and could not read the boss’s movements, and she tried bombs, poison knives and special papers meant to throw the boss off. A second nurse appeared during one attempt and ended the run, and DipperDog went to look for a way to build up her resources. She also told chat she was nursing a strained throat from screaming at the game.
“Go to the chalice dungeon, they said. Upgrade your weapon, they said. Who’s got skills? This one does.” — DipperDog, just after the win
Chat steered her toward farming blood echoes in an area with pig enemies, and later toward a chalice dungeon. She grumbled that the dungeon was a poor use of time and that the stream title promised the nurse fight, then went back to the pigs. After spending her echoes on upgrades her blunt attack rose to 227, and later to 251. She said she had little interest in leveling anything but strength, and she stayed with her hammer throughout.
The kill came with a health bar that seemed to keep going. DipperDog said she had braced for a second phase that never arrived. She then pointed to the weapon she had used, saying that once she had it, the fight was nothing but hammer swings. The reward was an umbilical cord.
With the fight done, chat pointed her toward Cainhurst, a side area she had not visited, and gave directions that she followed with mixed success. She cleared a clinic, followed the route onward and reached a snowy new area before ending the night about four hours in. She said the next stream would explore Cainhurst.
