Kaela Kovalskia Grinds Six Hours in Hololive Dreams as Her New Song Goes Live
Four fellow Hololive talents joined the first half of the stream, and she played on alone until a sore left hand brought it to a close.
HOLOLIVE — Kaela Kovalskia spent a six-hour stream working through her own event in the rhythm game hololive Dreams, built around her new song “Forge My Soul,” which had come out that day.
The first half was a group effort. Raora Panthera, Anya Melfissa, Pavolia Reine and Koseki Bijou joined her in multiplayer rooms, congratulated her on the song and traded tips on its slide notes. They kept reminding one another to pick the highlight option, which carries a bonus in the event. Around the 35-minute mark a room froze on a “waiting for other players” screen and several players had to restart the game. Raora tried again and again to log off for the night, and each time the others found a reason for her to play one more song. A running joke about a basement where Kaela supposedly kept her guests went on for hours.
“This song is basically telling you that pain and your dream actually coexist.” — Kaela Kovalskia, explaining her new song
The collab wound down around the three-and-a-half-hour mark, and Kaela continued alone. She said she had been grinding since the previous stream and had slept about an hour. She checked the leaderboard twice, finding herself at 53rd and later at 44th, and stuck notes on her phone to remind herself to count down before each song. In the fifth hour she tried the game’s mirror chart option, which flips the notes from side to side. She said it hurt her brain and told viewers she would never do it again.
By the end her left hand was sore, and she finished the stream one-handed. Before signing off she walked viewers through the game’s auto-play mode, which earns a reduced number of event points while a player is busy with something else. She said a one-boost run came out around 50,000 points.
Kaela said the event ends Friday evening, and that a morning outing, a rehearsal and a watch-along that day would leave her little time to play. She planned to keep grinding after a short rest and to take a few days off from the game the following week. She closed by asking viewers to listen to the full version of “Forge My Soul.”
