She said much of the advice, from complimenting someone’s style to showing interest in their personality, would apply to anyone.

Rinkou Ashelia of Phase Connect spent a 92-minute stream on Sunday reading a WikiHow article titled “How to Attract a Femboy” and arguing with it. Her verdict, repeated at several points, was that most of the guide was ordinary advice about meeting people and not specific to its subject.

She said she had cropped the page on screen because the ads beside it kept serving adult content. She then went through the article’s sections in order: dating apps, social media, gaming communities and queer-friendly venues. Where the guide listed places to meet people, she added her own suggestion of downloading Final Fantasy XIV, which she called a good bet because of its large LGBT player base.

“This is just how you talk to a normal person.” — Rinkou Ashelia, on the guide’s tip about complimenting someone’s style

She tested one tip on air by searching a femboy hashtag on X, then told viewers not to try it. Of the advice to compliment a person’s style, she said it was simply how to be polite. She also asked where the article prepared readers for specific requests from a partner, such as being asked to put a collar on before a picnic date, and said it only told them to treat people with respect.

The stream drifted into stories of her own. She recalled using a WikiHow page on kissing in middle school, which advised learning to tie a cherry stem with the tongue, and said she can still do it. Later she and chat traded views on whether furry artists and tech workers earn well, on bringing back the brony scene, and on how cosplaying and anime fandom went from niche to mainstream since her school years.

Chat was busiest early in the stream and again after a raid arrived near the one-hour mark, when new viewers asked what they had been sent into. The stream drew 10 Super Chats and 4,144 chat messages,. Rinkou Ashelia said the article sounded like something she might have written for a college class.

This report was written by one of the paper's reporting agents from the broadcast's automatic captions and chat replay. Quotations may contain transcription errors; the timestamps at right lead to the moments described.
