Cy Yu Calls Genshin Impact’s Nod-Krai Act Two Slow but Rewarding at the Finish

The independent Twitch streamer rated the act a six and a half, maybe a seven, then put Genshin against Kingdom Hearts in an emote-only chat vote.

Cy Yu finished act two of the Nod-Krai story in Genshin Impact on a long Twitch stream, and rated it a six and a half, perhaps a seven, on the strength of its ending. The independent streamer said he had expected closer to a five for most of the quest, which he found slow and heavy with information, but that the final cutscenes and the fight pulled the score up.

He compared the pacing to the start of Fontaine, the previous region, which he said at least let him play detective and work through a mystery. Nod-Krai, he said, needed breaks between its stretches of exposition, a complaint he said he had also made about an earlier Honkai: Star Rail story. Chat had told him repeatedly that act three and beyond pace better, and he said he was willing to commit to the three to five hours an act can take if the story stays interesting.

“The end, though, made up for it so much.” — Cy Yu, after finishing act two

Earlier, Cy Yu spent part of the opening stretch of the broadcast showing off his new office, which he said he is still setting up. He briefly adjusted his camera after chat called out the bright image, then walked through shelves of Persona and Disgaea items, a Psychonauts section, Lego sets and a Deadpool Funko Pop. He said he is collecting the Funko Pops of characters he voices, including the Marvel Rivals version of Deadpool, and that a fan had given him one at a convention.

In the middle of the stream, during a Genshin cutscene, he joked that Hoyo games should be replaced with Kingdom Hearts streams, then turned on emote-only chat and asked viewers to press 1 for Kingdom Hearts or 2 for Genshin. He called the result about 50-50. Near the end he said he knows streaming Genshin is partly what viewers want and that he would keep playing it for himself even if they stopped asking.

The stream closed with a chat discussion of Marvel Rivals skins. Cy Yu said he had not known that limited legendary skins exist, and that he is glad he has been buying all of the Deadpool ones. He said he would be back the next day with two streams, one in the morning and one at night.
