Sumomo Reaches the Ending of a Store-Detective Game on Twitch
The story closed with Sumomo’s character and a man named Bill running the supermarket together, and the streamer ended on a note about second chances.
INDEPENDENT — Sumomo, an independent streamer on Twitch, played a supermarket game through to what appeared to be its ending on Tuesday, unlocking an achievement as a thank-you letter from a character named Bill appeared on screen.
In the game, Sumomo worked as a store detective catching shoplifters. In the closing stretch, the narration said Bill had become the supermarket’s new owner. Sumomo then worked out that the two of them would run the store together, called the story “really interesting,” and said the chili sauce recipe explained why the character had been brought to the store in the first place.
“Even a bad person can start over as many times as they like, if they change their mindset from now.” — Sumomo, near the end of the stream
Earlier in the stream, Sumomo opened with a talk about lip balm, saying they had used it constantly since their late teens. Around the half-hour mark, a viewer asked whether Sumomo would join a protest, a question that arose as chat discussed demonstrations in France. Sumomo said they were a homebody and might consider one that could be done from home, but that going outside was the sticking point.
Later in the game, Sumomo bought a taser at the shop. Chat first guessed what it was, then Sumomo tested it and called it strong enough to drop a target in one hit.
As the game wrapped up, Sumomo said even people who steal can change course, and that a person who changes their mindset can start over. Chat greeted the unexpectedly extended ending, and Sumomo said a video was due on YouTube the next morning and that more Twitch streams were planned.
