Sumomo Opens New Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond Packs in Five-Hour Stream
The independent Twitch streamer also browsed an 888-yen detective game and weighed card cosmetics before signing off.
INDEPENDENT — Sumomo, an independent streamer on Twitch, spent Wednesday’s stream of more than five hours, titled “Hold to your convictions,” on Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, the card game. Sumomo greeted chat, took a drink and moved straight into the game. Early on, Sumomo noted that the game’s new release had arrived and said the art was full of characters worth protecting.
The pack opening came later in the day. Sumomo tore through new packs, reacted loudly as rare and foil cards turned up, and read the detective theme of the set from the text on the cards. Sumomo said the new season looked about three times better than the last and announced a plan to go with Dragon, for the sake of one favorite character card.
“A streamer’s report never turns out to be a plus.” — Sumomo, on reporting players during a stream
Between sessions, Sumomo turned to talk. On reporting other players mid-match, Sumomo said a streamer who reports someone on stream gains nothing from it, recalling a time when a player Sumomo had flagged for apparent cheating in a shooter came back angrily. Sumomo added that confirmed cheaters deserve punishment, because cheating in a game Sumomo loves feels personal.
Later, Sumomo opened a store page for a detective game priced at 888 yen, built around investigating cases of infidelity, and said it looked a little interesting. Near the end, Sumomo weighed buying a cosmetic that changes the look of cards against animated backgrounds, picked cards for a new deck and thanked viewers for their subscriptions. Sumomo said a YouTube video would go up the next morning and another Twitch stream would follow the next day.
