Haruka Mikoto Answers a Forum Post Dismissing Her Voice With a Vampire Song

SHEERMUSICV — Haruka Mikoto, a singer with SheerMusicV, answered an online forum post that dismissed her voice by singing a vampire-themed song on her Wednesday morning stream. She said she had come across the post while searching the web for mentions of herself, something she does only once every few years on the anonymous message board 5channel.

The thread was a request for recommendations of VTuber with cute voices, and its starter rated each name suggested. According to Mikoto, the starter praised a fellow SheerMusicV member, but when another user brought up Mikoto, the starter replied that she was not to their taste. She said she thinks her own voice is very cute and took no real damage, though she admitted it stung a little. Her guess was that the poster liked soft, fluffy voices rather than her high-energy delivery. “Fluffy is something I can do too,” she told viewers, and said she would win the poster over.

“How’s that? Cute, right?” — Haruka Mikoto, after the song

She followed through with a vampire-themed song, and afterward asked whether the poster had heard it, using the line that became her quote. After a second song she said she preferred being cute with plenty of energy to being fluffy, and she closed the singing with a song she had wanted to perform for a while. Chat answered the songs with long runs of musical-note and applause emoji, and one viewer wrote that the comment section would have to get cute too.

Earlier, she spent the opening half hour on her FANBOX page, the paid-membership site she runs. She said she had sorted all her past posts under category tags, such as diary, voice and radio, so newcomers could browse them more easily, and planned a guide to her free and recommended posts for early November. She also said she was thinking of replacing the birthday-greeting voice offered to the highest-tier plan, possibly from next year. Viewers suggested song requests, and she said she liked the idea but did not want to sell individual attention.

Mikoto asked viewers to keep posting about her so her searches would turn up good finds. She said a VRChat stream with a Halloween theme was planned for the next day, and that her next live appearance on Nov. 3 would feature the black dress outfit she first showed at a recent live.
