Pumpkin Potion Closes Trick-or-Treat Event With Winner Announcement Set for Saturday

INDEPENDENT — Pumpkin Potion, an independent streamer on Twitch, wrapped up the final day of a Halloween trick-or-treat event on Tuesday by announcing that ticket entries were closed and that a winner would be named on Saturday. The streamer said the total had grown so large that the mods had been consulted, since the overflow would otherwise have run into November.

The day ran on the event’s treats and spins. Pumpkin Potion tallied tickets viewer by viewer, announced one total of 28 after a run of resubscriptions, and handed out Tier 1 gift subscriptions, including a batch of five to the community. Chat answered with cheers of “AGAIN” as the spins landed.

Between rounds, the talk wandered. Pumpkin Potion walked chat through the saga of Sonic comic writer Ken Penders and the legal fight that left him unable to use his characters in a Sonic style, with chat adding its own recollections of the Archie comics. Pumpkin Potion also urged viewers to sign a petition to save BioWare and the Mass Effect series from EA, saying voice actors had signed on and that it had passed 200,000 signatures.

Chat also took over for a one-minute timer in which viewers shouted out songs and catchphrases, and later the thumbnail and a stream-theme mix-up became a running joke before it was fixed.

Signing off, Pumpkin Potion said the Discord name would change to Negapumpkin, paired with a Negaduck outfit through the 31st, then sent viewers on a raid to another streamer. The streamer said the next stream would be Thursday, with the remaining spins to be finished before Saturday’s announcement.
