Nanase Ray Watches NIKKE Side Story “Second Affection” Blind in a Single Sitting

774INC — Nanase Ray of 774inc’s Nanashiinku watched the NIKKE side story “Second Affection” for the first time on Wednesday, taking in the whole thing in a stream of just under two hours. She had stopped at Chapter 22 of the main story a week earlier and chose the side story for the day.

Before the story, she ran through her usual chores and spent 30 tickets on the standard recruitment. About 10 minutes in, she pulled Rapi: Red Hood on the last ticket and let out a shout, then said the result made her nervous about the anniversary banner. She said she would hold off on her anniversary pulls until after the new character Guren arrives on Nov. 5, then draw on both banners together. Two Super Chats came in during the stream.

The story follows Marian, a young character who has just left the Ark and is escorted across dangerous ground by Snow White, Rapunzel and Guren. Nanase followed the trio’s attempts to look after her: Guren taught Marian to fish and she landed her first catch, Snow White handed over her own grilled fish, and a night of drinking and a borrowed book, offered by the others as lessons in calm, went badly wrong. Chat joked that her upbringing had failed.

Marian later wound up at the castle of a character named Crown, where she stayed silent in her room for days while Crown sat beside her without a word. The story ended with Marian fighting off an attack on the castle alone, her body glowing black as she called out to everyone she wanted to protect. Nanase said she had expected that form to appear much later in the game.

After the ending she opened a gift tied to the game’s fourth anniversary, and chat explained how to use the treasure items she had been hoarding. Next week she plans to push the main story through Chapters 23 and 24 and then read the past event Red Ash. A gacha stream is tentatively set for the afternoon of Nov. 8.
