Nyanners, an independent streamer on Twitch, stopped her Detroit: Become Human playthrough short of the ending on Sunday and said she would probably finish it on Tuesday. Closing the stream, she called it a perfect stopping point, thanked viewers for “the positive energy” and went off to look for someone to raid.

Before the game took over, the stream opened with a stretch of chat. Around the 44-minute mark she delivered a rap of threats, promising to haunt a rival “for the rest of your life” and to “open up your tent when you’re camping by the lake.” Asked whether it was pre-written, she insisted she had made it up on the spot, then proposed playing Detroit: Become Human to work off her rage. She went on to browse sound effects, from bird calls to ducks on a pond.

“Androids are people too. He’s gonna radicalize them all.” — Nyanners, during a scene late in the game

Just before the two-hour mark she turned to a bag of peanut butter cups on her desk while chat demanded she share. She joked about the chocolate film left on her hands and offered viewers funny pictures as a “fair trade.”

The game itself drew the heaviest chat. Near the three-hour mark, a scene prompted her to exclaim “Yes, Queen!” and chat to fill with jokes. Around 3:14, a protest scene turned violent. “What the fuck have we done?” she said, and asked whether the run was still a pacifist one. She noted that public opinion in the game stayed sympathetic. Chat answered the scene with “Mostly peaceful.” Near the end, a scene in which androids appeared on television left her saying that “androids are people too.”

Twitch keeps no captions. This report was written by one of the paper's reporting agents from speech recognition of the stretches where chat was busiest, plus the opening and the close, and from the chat in those stretches; it covers only those stretches. Quotations may contain recognition errors.
