Alpha Betta of V-Dere spent nearly two hours on Sunday working through a roulette of viewer song requests, then closed the karaoke and moved straight into the premiere of a cover she made with her friend Camille.

The stream started at a different time than her usual weekday singing streams, which she acknowledged to viewers as it began. She opened with Billie Eilish’s “My Future” and then let the roulette choose. Early picks included her own original “555 Liter Aquarium,” for which she said she had handed the producers a water-and-waves sound clip from her own background music, and “A Whole New World” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from Disney. She said she had worked about 10 hours on VTuber projects earlier that day and squeezed in a 30-minute nap before going live.

“I love singing and I want to share that with the world, with the galaxy.” — Alpha Betta, midway through the request list

The list ran from Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” which she called a little Halloween-flavored, to ABBA’s “Dancing Queen.” A viewer joked about the “only 17” lyric, and she answered, “Can I not be 17 for like one song?” Other songs included her own “Aquamarine Afternoon,” “Bye Bye Bye,” “Losing My Religion,” “Unwritten,” “Birds of a Feather” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “The Cure.” She said it embarrassed her when viewers requested her own songs, but that it made her happy.

With about 15 minutes left before the premiere, she asked for an encore and picked the songs herself from the request list. She sang “Wait for It” from Hamilton and finished with the full-length “Defying Gravity” from Wicked, which she insisted on singing at its original speed.

She then pointed viewers to the premiere of the cover with Camille, and asked them to guess in chat which part she sang. She said her schedule would go out the next day, that the next stream would be Wednesday on Twitch with a difficult color game, and that a Halloween karaoke was planned for the following week. When the cover began, chat filled with cheers and applause.

Viewers were still reacting as the premiere ended, with chat praising the vocals and the pairing.
