Shiranami Ramune’s Team Finishes LTK’s First Half Unbeaten With Win Over Iris Tiara Next
Dahlia Diadem Next took a 41-minute game after starting behind, its third straight win of the stage.
VSPO — Shiranami Ramune’s team, Dahlia Diadem Next, beat Iris Tiara Next in a 41-minute League of Legends game on Friday, its third straight win in the LTK regular stage. The result left the team unbeaten at the halfway point. Ramune streamed the day from the team’s voice chat for about eight hours, with teammates including Yumeno Akari on the call.
The broadcast opened with a wait. Teammate Shaka joined 22 minutes late after he had meant to sleep for an hour and overslept. He apologized and said he was not unwell, and the others teased him for a while before the group turned to the match.
“It was fiercer than I expected. But it was a lot of fun.” — Shiranami Ramune, on the lane matchup after the win
Dahlia Diadem Next started the game behind. The match broadcast described a gold deficit in the early stretch, and Ramune later said her two-on-two lane was tougher than she had expected. The game turned in the middle, when the team won a teamfight around the dragon and pressed toward the mid tower, then closed it out with a push about twenty minutes later. The broadcast’s interviewer singled out an engage (a forced opening to a fight) by Shaka, with his ultimate, in a fight that began without vision near a dragon. Shaka said it had landed on a front-line target and that he thought it had failed, but that the damage dealers on his side made the most of it.
Asked about her own play, Ramune said she felt she had done very little. She credited Shaka with the engages, saying he called out when he was going in and, when he had no engage available, asked her to take the next one. Coach Tanuki Ninja said he had been uneasy about picks the team had little time to rehearse, and was glad they worked out.
More than ten of the stream’s 20 Super Chats arrived in the 11 minutes after the win. The group then watched the next game, in which Dahlia Diadem Core lost to Iris Tiara Core. Voices on the call cheered as the draft followed what they had worked out in about three hours of research that ran until 5 a.m. They later went back over their own game, discussing mana management, minion damage and vision.
The second half opens against Camellia Crown Next, which Ramune said she would take on with full focus. The team’s next practice is Monday, and the broadcast announced that the season finale playoffs will be held in Chiba on Nov. 21 and 22. Ramune closed by calling the unbeaten first half unexpected, and said she might not stream over the next couple of days.
