Inugami Korone Drops Guest Fighter Ronaldo for Mr. Karate in First Run of Fatal Fury
The Hololive streamer lost her first arcade run with the footballer, then turned the CPU level down and cleared one character’s story over a four-hour debut with the game.
HOLOLIVE — Inugami Korone of Hololive spent more than four hours on Wednesday playing Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves for the first time, working through the tutorial, the full roster and arcade mode before settling on a fighter she called Mr. Karate.
She opened by saying it was a true first play and that the game had a reputation for being very difficult. After choosing arcade-style controls, she went through the practice lessons, covering throws, rolling get-ups, special moves and the game’s power gauge, and then spent a long stretch of the stream scrolling through the roster and trying characters to see their special moves.
“It was hard. I see why people say it’s hard, but it was fun.” — Inugami Korone, near the end of the stream
The character who drew the most attention was Cristiano Ronaldo, a real footballer who appears in the game as a fighter. Korone wondered aloud how he came to be included, tried his soccer-ball moves in training and picked him for her first arcade run. She lost to the first CPU opponent, discovered she had left the controls on the simplified setting, and ended the run with a game over, saying Ronaldo suited soccer better than fighting. Earlier in the stream, she accidentally pulled a cable out with her foot and apologized to viewers.
She then lowered the CPU difficulty to level 2 and switched to Mr. Karate, a character she said she had come to like. Opponents grew tougher as she went. At the higher levels she watched the computer chain long combos, and she spent time in the combo trials trying to learn his moves. She sat through the story scenes, including a meeting with Terry Bogard, and said she was glad to have cleared one character’s story.
In her closing talk she said the game differed from Street Fighter 6 in its details even though the basic movement was similar. She praised the characters, effects and sound, and said she had wanted to try the series for a long time because others had recommended it. She also said the stream was not a sponsored one.
