Kazama Iroha Lands the Sea Urchin Gold Crown on Day 8 of Her Morning Fishing Challenge
The catch came about an hour into a stream that began with a lag problem, and left three fish still to go.
HOLOLIVE — Kazama Iroha of Hololive’s holoX caught a gold-crown sea urchin about an hour into a morning stream, completing the eighth day of her fishing challenge in Hololive Dreams. She had gone into the session aiming at the urchin alone, the fish she called the hardest of those left.
The stream opened with trouble. The video and chat were stuttering, and Iroha restarted her broadcasting software and then switched web browsers, saying she suspected Chrome was the cause. Things ran smoothly afterward. She then said she would spend the day going after the urchin, using a tip a listener had sent in.
“That’s a relief. I finally caught the gold crown. I’m so happy.” — Kazama Iroha, after the catch
The urchin resisted for more than an hour. Iroha swapped baits, changed spots and took advice from chat, and remarked that an urchin is not something one normally catches with a rod. Around the 64-minute mark she shouted as it finally hooked, and she landed it a couple of minutes later. “That’s a relief. I finally caught the gold crown,” she said, adding that the catch had been a real struggle for the whole group.
With the urchin done, she said three fish were still outstanding and named the manta as the next target, asking viewers to send tips under her gold-crown challenge hashtag. She then played a round of Splash Ball and finished first, and signed off at about 8:30 a.m. in her time zone, saying the end of the challenge was in sight.
Chat greeted the catch with applause and congratulations. Earlier in the stream she had spent a long stretch on a zatsudan, or chat segment, about a recent meal with a childhood friend and about the fishing game How to Fish, and she mentioned that she plans to rest in the evening instead of streaming.
