Lan Philia Spends 90 Minutes Socializing on New Minecraft Server Before Digging In

The Aegis-Link streamer, sick but determined to play, made a backpack for herself and gave Kumi one with gold before signing off.

Lan Philia of Aegis-Link spent about the first hour and a half of her first day on the StellarCraft Minecraft server in the company of other players. She then turned to the game itself, mining and gathering materials through the rest of a stream that ran more than four hours under the title “back to the mines!” She opened sniffling and coughing, apologized to viewers for it, and said she was sick but wanted to play and build.

She had said at the start that she had not been able to join the server until that day and would be starting from scratch. The first stretch was a walk through the spawn hub with a group of other players: player-made advertisements, including a say-no-to-drugs-and-gambling poster across from a gambling corner, and a bar-and-grill build with an aquarium. At about 1:20 she announced it was time to play Minecraft. She described the opening as quite an introduction to the server and said all the laughing had left her feeling a little better.

“Sometimes it’s nice just to have regular Minecraft.” — Lan Philia, on playing with fewer mods

On her own, she gathered wood and talked with viewers about what a food shop on the server could sell, settling on grilled cheese. “Let’s just only sell cheese like grilled cheese and that’s it,” she said. She then went after leather and string for a backpack, killing cows and sheep and eventually realizing she could break down wool to get string. She called the server a cooldown from the heavily modded packs she is used to, and twice asked chat to vote by typing 1 or 2 on whether to go down a deep cave and into a portal.

By about 2:19 she had her backpack and listed the next goals: diamonds, an upgraded backpack, repaying items another player had given her, and materials for a cheese wheel. She later reached a bastion in the Nether, rejoined other players, and near the end went looking for leather again to make a backpack for Kumi. At about 4:06 she handed over one with gold, and the two talked over which trees to build with. Lan Philia said good night, saying she was tired, and added that she thought she would stream Saturday but was not sure.
