Machina X Flayon Wins Octavio’s Halloween Quiz Show With 1,220 Points
Gavis Bettel wagered all 850 of his points in the final round and finished at zero.
HOLOLIVE — Machina X Flayon won Octavio’s Halloween-themed quiz show, Octa Party, finishing with 1,220 points after wagering 420 in the final round. Shiori Novella ended with 970 points. Gavis Bettel, who risked all 850 of his points on the last game, finished with none.
Octavio hosted the 96-minute stream with all three guests in a call. He said he had felt underprepared for the previous Octa Party and had written an opening script this time, which he read before introducing each contestant. The board had five categories: Fright Club for horror movies, Once Upon a Werewolf for monsters and folklore, a horror games category, Bone Appetit for Halloween food and candy, and His-gory for the history of the holiday. Early on, Bettel joked that he had cheered faintly in the background of every Holostars cover released so far.
“Answer right and the points are yours. Answer wrong and we’ll never let you forget it.” — Octavio, reading his opening script
The questions leaned hard, and the guesses were part of the show. Shiori answered a folklore question correctly by naming salt as the thing that sends a zombie back to its grave in Haitian tradition. A history question about King Tut’s tomb, which turned out to be about 145 pairs of underwear, drew guesses of cats, apples, servants, necklaces and bandages before a hint got it answered. Bettel climbed from 250 points to 850 on questions about Houdini, turnips and apples, and the other players kept accusing Flayon of cheating. Flayon said he had looked at chat for one question. Going into the final round, Shiori led with 950, ahead of Bettel on 850 and Flayon on 800.
The last game, Price Is Fright, asked for numbers and let each player wager points. Shiori bet 20, Bettel bet everything and Flayon bet 420. The world’s heaviest pumpkin weighed 3,156 pounds, and Flayon’s guess of 3,000 was the closest. The hotel room in The Shining was 237. Paranormal Activity had a budget of $15,000 and grossed $193 million worldwide. Pennywise returns every 27 years, and the doomed flight in Final Destination was number 180. Wrong guesses cost Bettel his full stake, while Flayon’s wager doubled to bring him to 1,220.
Octavio thanked the guests and said a cover with some of them would follow the stream. Bettel said a new outfit was coming on the 24th, which is the 25th in Japan, and the group mentioned a concert planned for February 2027. Octavio said he would consider a visual novel edition of the quiz.
