INDEPENDENT — Bao, an independent streamer on Twitch, said near the close of a Just Chatting stream that she is considering a Halloween broadcast in which she tries costumes on her cats, and asked viewers to say which day suited them. She thanked chat for doomscrolling with her and signed off after about five hours.

The stream opened with Bao working through a long run of subscription messages, thanking viewers by name for stretches of loyalty that ran to several years. She said she was glad to be back and that she could finally hear her alerts. Chat noticed a brow piercing on her model and a small Bao plushie on her microphone. Later she said she was unsure whether she wanted a piercing like it for real. Looking back on the thanks, she said that after six-plus years of streaming, seeing people return still left her feeling like an impostor.
