The Hololive English streamer spent over an hour in combo practice, then tested herself in arcade mode and said she still was not ready.

Ninomae Ina’nis opened a short training arc for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising on Wednesday, saying she was preparing for a mini tournament against a few of her fellow Hololive talents. She put the date at Nov. 2 and said she had little confidence going in.

She began with the story mode to pick up the setting, then moved to character select, trying several fighters before settling on Charlotta. Her main goal, she said, was to find the one character she could actually play.

“I’m not ready for the tournament. I might have to do another practice stream with actually playing against you guys.” — Ninomae Ina’nis, after switching to a harder difficulty

Combo practice took up most of the stream. Starting around the 41-minute mark, Ina’nis worked through corner combos and timing drills for well over an hour, repeatedly mixing up buttons and directions. Around the 1:13 mark she said she might want a character with fewer buttons, and later joked that her brain was overloaded. She kept at it, and at about 1:31 she landed a difficult sequence after chat advised her on the timing.

She then switched to arcade mode to try the combos against computer opponents, joking that she was going for the ankles, and later moved up to a harder difficulty. Near the end she said she had invested too much time in Charlotta to change course and would likely stay with one character for now, and she asked viewers to help whip her into shape in a future session.

Chat spent much of the session offering combo tips and encouragement, and filled the screen with cheers when the practice paid off.
