Gigi Murin Wins Four-Talent Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Tournament on IRyS’s Stream
IRyS, Mori Calliope and Ninomae Ina’nis each streamed the bracket from their own channels, then all four joined a 23-player Grand Bruise lobby.
HOLOLIVE — Gigi Murin won a four-talent mini-tournament in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (GBVSR) that ran on IRyS’s channel under the title “Please don’t obliterate me.” Mori Calliope and Ninomae Ina’nis took part and streamed the same session from their own channels. The stream was labeled as sponsored.
The talents opened with introductions of the characters they had picked. Calliope said she was playing a scythe-wielding fighter from the game’s story because, as the Grim Reaper, she wields a scythe too. The group traded lore about the game’s characters before drawing the bracket, and IRyS said she had put six or seven hours into the game beforehand. A settings mix-up over how many rounds made up a match forced the first room to be rebuilt, after which Ina took the opener from Calliope.
“I got absolutely butchered by Gigi Murin, but, you know, that one combo took me some places.” — IRyS, closing the stream
Gigi then beat IRyS, who was pushed into the corner and told chat she was blocking. In the winners’ match Gigi’s winged character beat Ina, and the talents joked that he poured coffee after a win. IRyS meanwhile worked out a chain combo that carried her past Calliope, and said afterward she had picked up a callus. Ina then beat IRyS, who took one round off her, and Calliope said she had expected to finish fourth. The talents congratulated Gigi as the champion.
With the bracket done, Gigi and Calliope played an exhibition that did not count toward placings. All four then joined a Grand Bruise Legends lobby, the game’s obstacle-and-survival mode, alongside other players who queued in. IRyS held on through a round of monsters and owls with one health left, and 23 players were in the lobby, with the four calling out finishes that included ninth, 17th and 21st.
Chat spent the evening cheering on all four, and many of the biggest bursts came as IRyS fought Gigi. Signing off, the talents thanked the sponsor, joked about mashing buttons and said goodbye with Gigi’s “meow meow” catchphrase.
