Kronus Announces His Younger Brother Is Becoming a Squirrel VTuber Who Codes
The new character, called Tuna, is a computer science student who will teach competitive programming and is due to debut in December.
INDEPENDENT — Kronus used a Vietnamese chat stream on Monday to announce that his younger brother is joining him as a VTuber. Billed as a freetalk with “good news,” the stream held back the reveal for about five minutes before Kronus said the news was a new member of his team: a squirrel VTuber, whom he jokingly called a “squirrel in a jar” after chat’s nickname.
The character is called Tuna. Kronus said Tuna is his biological brother, lives in the same house and is a computer science student. He listed a résumé that includes prizes in national high school informatics contests, among them a second place, and a place in the ICPC programming contest. “He’s just a squirrel, just a very, very cute little squirrel,” Kronus said.
Tuna’s channel will focus on coding, especially C++ and the Codeforces competitive programming site, with preparation for the 2027 ICPC as an ongoing thread. Kronus said he might join in later to teach SQL. He said Tuna would go live for the first time this weekend, but only to get to know viewers; the formal debut is planned for around December. Kronus said Tuna decides his own content, though he suggested a first stream solving a 2026 city-level exam for gifted students.
Kronus said he did not want Tuna to lean on his name and wanted him to grow on his own, so he was wary of streaming together at the weekend. Chat took the news with jokes about the squirrel, asked whether Tuna plays games and encouraged Kronus to let him stream. The stream also drew four Super Chats.
