Shylily Gets Past a Phantom Blade Zero Boss After Many Tries
The streamer also said she would skip Tuesday’s stream and return Thursday to play World of Warcraft on a North American server.
INDEPENDENT — Shylily, an independent streamer on Twitch, beat a boss in Phantom Blade Zero near the end of her Monday stream after repeated failed attempts. As the fight turned in her favor, chat urged her on, and when it ended she called it a win that had taken “so many tries” and said she was proud of it.
She had opened the evening in a looser mood. Within the first minute she stopped to point out what she took to be Squidward’s walking sound in a music video, joking that it was something an AI could only dream of reproducing, and said she already loved the playlist. She also told viewers she had just finished some purchases in preparation for TwitchCon.
“Oh, finally. It took so many tries.” — Shylily, after beating the boss
Phantom Blade Zero was the main business. She said she was loving the game, but described a boss from the previous day’s session as frustrating because it turned immune to hits at random, including during the last part of her combo. She said she got past it by landing one combo and backing off, rather than trading blows. Later in the night, a raid of 4,094 viewers from the channel of vedal987 arrived while she was in the middle of a fight against an enemy with a spiky shield, and she thanked the raiders while saying she could not look. Afterward she talked through her accessory choices, saying she might swap in ones that boost damage against shielded enemies.
On the subject of Twitch, she said the option to gift 1,000 subscriptions in one purchase should not exist, arguing that a single gift of that size was hard to square with giving without secondary motives and suggesting it might be better limited to charity.
She announced that she would not stream on Tuesday, which she said she normally does, because of commitments she could not move. She plans to return Thursday with a late stream playing World of Warcraft with friends on a North American PvE server, on the Horde side. She said she usually plays on European servers but would make an exception for this one chance to play with her American friends.
