Finana Ryugu Shows Police Character Cloverfield and Quizzes Herself on 10-Codes Before District V2
The NIJISANJI EN streamer said she plans to play the officer as a quiet, serious cadet with a changed voice.
NIJISANJI — Finana Ryugu showed the full-body design of her police character, Cloverfield, on a zatsudan, or chat stream, on the eve of the roleplay server District V2. She said Cloverfield will begin as a cadet and that her goal is to be promoted quickly.
Finana said she had stayed up late studying and had made flash cards and mini quizzes for herself, calling it first-day-of-school stress. She also described trainings that ran from about 3 a.m. to nearly 9 a.m. her time, including one where Chief Shelby gave surprise quizzes, asking her the code for repeating a transmission and the difference between reasonable suspicion and probable cause. Late in the stream she worked through a set of police radio code questions on camera, getting most right and missing about three. She also recited the Miranda rights and explained the Fourth and Fifth Amendments as she had learned them.
“I’m going to fully lock in.” — Finana Ryugu, on preparing for her police role
Finana described Cloverfield as quiet, blunt and hard to read, with headphones she rarely takes off, a lime-green neon mask, a love of driving, music and dancing, and a quiet spot in the police station basement gym. Finana said she is not sharing the backstory and wants it to emerge through play. She plans to be a patrol and high-speed chase officer, and she said she showed a mask asset for her avatar. The call sign 999, she said, is a nod to the video game Zero Escape: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors.
Near the end she tried out the voice she plans to use as Cloverfield, lower-key and more serious than her usual stream voice, and said she will warm up in it from now on. She said she will largely avoid reading chat while playing and may add a note to her stream description that mistakes are part of learning. She plans to start streaming the server the next day.
Chat greeted her with encouragement, and the voice test drew laughter and cheers of “Wiwa” when she briefly slipped out of it. One Super Chat came in during the stream.
