Mori Calliope Starts Majora’s Mask on Halloween, Her First Time Through the Game
She played a little over two and a half hours before leaving for a ten-hour studio day, and promised a much longer stream this week.
HOLOLIVE — Mori Calliope began The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask on Halloween, playing it for the first time in a stream of about two and a half hours. She wore a small pumpkin on her head and said she had promised to start the game on the holiday.
She opened by warning that she had little time: she had woken at 7:30 a.m. to be in the studio for about ten hours, to prepare for a live singing appearance at Matsuri’s birthday stream later that day. She said she had recently finished Ocarina of Time over several streams, and she kept her file name as “Space Link” to match that save.
“I’m an endurance streamer, you see. 24 hours, that’s nothing.” — Mori Calliope, during the Bombers’ hide-and-seek
In the first hours she followed Link’s story from the Skull Kid’s ambush, through his transformation into a Deku Scrub, to Clock Town and the Happy Mask Salesman’s 72-hour deadline. She met Tingle, bought a map of Clock Town, restored the Great Fairy and cleared the Bombers’ hide-and-seek, which she found five children for before learning the secret code. When the moon began to fall she reached the clock tower, won back the Ocarina of Time, and used the Song of Time to return to the dawn of the first day. The Song of Healing then turned her Deku form into a mask and gave Link his human body back.
Her second cycle took her out of town. She picked up the Great Fairy Mask, bought a map of Woodfall from Tingle, helped the Magic Hags with a lost sister and a bottle of red potion, and took a camera on the swamp boat cruise to the Deku Palace. Along the way she joked about her loot-goblin instincts and about trying to attack a frog. Viewers sent 51 Super Chats, many of them wishing her a happy Halloween and recommending the game.
Calliope ended the stream to head to the studio. She said she planned to play again later in the week in a much longer session, and that she would read the Super Chats at the end of that one. She added that she already liked how quirky the game was, and that she would not finish it before the Ocarina of Time remake arrives.
