Nishizono Chigusa Clears Wuthering Waves’ Act 12 in a Seven-Hour Halloween Stream
The Nijisanji streamer worked through the story mission that precedes the Lahai-Roi region and said the region would be next, starting the following afternoon.
NIJISANJI — Nijisanji’s Nishizono Chigusa spent Halloween working through Chapter 2, Act 12 of the action RPG Wuthering Waves, a mission called “The City Frozen in Time,” in a stream that ran nearly seven hours. The mission is the one played just before the game’s Lahai-Roi region opens, and the stream’s title billed it as the night before that arrival. Chat passed 12,000 messages.
Nishizono opened by joking that the waiting-room thumbnail had been wrong, blaming a Halloween prank and telling viewers, “You saw nothing.” About eight minutes of ground rules followed: no story spoilers or hints, no answering the streamer’s off-target theories, no crying at a new character’s first appearance, and no policing of chat, only blocking. Nishizono said the character Chisa was known to them only by name and appearance, and that even her place in Act 12 had been learned from a chat comment.
“Give me my tears back.” — Nishizono Chigusa, when Namipon reappeared
The first half hour of the game portion went to catching up. Nishizono, back on Wuthering Waves for the first time in about a month since finishing the Rinascita region, reported reaching Union Level 57, asked viewers what the “tuning” feature does, and tried it for the first time with their advice. Nishizono said November would be the month for enjoying Lahai-Roi.
In the mission, the player character is pulled through a rift into a ruined town sealed inside a calamity, where residents repeat the same day. Chisa, a student with a collar-like device and a scissor-shaped weapon who has been stranded there for two months, and the town’s mascot Namipon guide the way as the pair gather residents’ lingering regrets in search of a route to the tower at the town’s center. Nishizono stopped often for photos and praised the scenery and Chisa’s design.
The stream’s emotional peak came a little after four hours and twenty minutes. Residents exchanged “I’m home” and “welcome back,” and Namipon then appeared to vanish. Nishizono, in tears, said those two phrases were dear to them and hoped for days in which “welcome back” can always be said. Namipon turned up again moments later, having only gone ahead to make tea, and Nishizono answered, “Give me my tears back.” Chat’s busiest minute of the day, 242 messages, came then. Later, a scene in which Chisa handed the protagonist a letter filled chat with “love letter,” and Nishizono remarked that the game was a dating sim after all.
Near the finale Nishizono abruptly shut the game down, which chat teased as a forced quit. Nishizono said the next stream would likely begin around 2 or 3 p.m. the following day, opening with Lahai-Roi’s introductory videos before the prologue and Act 1, which Nishizono estimated at four to five hours.
