shachi Falls Short in the Stardew Valley Egg Hunt, Then Joins the Adventurers Guild

Over a three-hour stream that ran from day 10 to day 18 of spring, the streamer fished, upgraded a rod, ordered a coop and made two trips into the mines.

shachi collected eight eggs in Stardew Valley’s spring egg hunt and lost to the town’s usual winner, then went on to register with the Adventurers Guild during a stream that ran more than three hours.

The session opened on day 10 of spring with shachi saying the stream was meant to be a cleansing after a rough previous day. Early on shachi asked whether 2,000 gold was impressive for that point in the game, then spent much of the first stretch fishing, trading in an old rod for a fiberglass one and chopping trees for acorns and pine cones to craft granola bars for the mines. Counting swings, shachi worked out that a tree takes 15 clicks to fell.

“It’s the fishing. I like the fishing.” — shachi, midway through the stream

The egg festival came at about the hour mark. shachi talked to every villager first to earn an achievement, then entered the hunt and finished with eight eggs. “You need more than nine to win,” shachi said afterward, and suggested the contest was rigged in Abigail’s favor. A first trip into the mines followed, ending at dusk with a level-up in combat, and a second, later trip ended in a rush to get home before the night closed in, with a level-up in mining.

Between trips shachi registered with the Adventurers Guild, checked a fish guide for the catches still missing from the collection, and bought seeds at Joja Mart out of pique after finding the general store’s counter unattended. By the late hours shachi had moved the farm on to day 18 and put a coop down.

Chat cheered the fishing and followed the egg hunt closely. Along the way shachi also talked through ideas for new emotes and for splitting streams between YouTube and Twitch. The stream closed with shachi saying the next one would be on Twitch and would probably be about birds.
