Shirogane Noel Completes Steampunk-Style Base on Hololive’s ARK Server
The streamer showed off the finished house to chat after a long build that stalled repeatedly along the way.
HOLOLIVE — Shirogane Noel finished building her house on Hololive’s ARK server and showed it to viewers on Saturday, calling the result a steampunk design. “I made it steampunk,” she said as she walked chat through the exterior. The stream, titled as a “third time’s the charm” attempt at getting a base up, ran nearly ten hours.
The build did not go smoothly. Early on she was gathering materials and shuffling items through an industrial forge, and her otter character, which chat calls “Otter Sensei,” suddenly started floating and would not come back down. She said it looked like cheating, then got it back to the ground. Later, as the automatic building process ran, she said progress had stopped at 88 percent and that the server was heavy, and she asked for divine help. When the structure finally went up, chat flooded in with congratulations.
“I want to live in a big house soon.” — Shirogane Noel, while working on the base
Noel also explained why she had set her heart on a white house. As a child, she said, she longed for a Sylvanian Families dollhouse but could not have one, and her older brother brought home a small toy house from a trash site instead. It was a dull wooden one, not a white one, but she played with it, and she said that is why she still wants a white house.
Midway through the final stretch, YouTube logged her out of the stream, cutting off her view of chat. She said it happens about once a week during broadcasts, signed back in with two-step verification, and apologized to viewers. Then she counted down and revealed the house. She said the skin that gives it its look went on without trouble this time because of testing she had done earlier, and said the lighting had come out brighter than she wanted.
She ended the stream by saying she could not take the photo of the house she wanted because the item she needed was out of reach, and she planned to be back about six hours later, from 10 o’clock, to play and chat.
