Tokoyami Towa Tames Lumina, Then a Giganotosaurus, in a Long ARK Session
After several trap designs failed, an old-style trap built with Iroha finally held the giant long enough to put it down.
HOLOLIVE — Tokoyami Towa tamed a Giganotosaurus on Sunday, capping a stream on the Hololive ARK server that ran for nearly six hours and had opened with a different goal: a creature called Lumina.
Towa said at the start that she wanted to take on the Lumina challenge, and she had stocked up on ingots beforehand. After gathering skills, gear and sedatives, she brought a Lumina under control about an hour and 23 minutes in and was soon riding it. Chat filled with congratulations as it happened.
Iroha joined her partway through, and the two went into a cave for crates of blueprints and equipment, coming out with a haul that included armor and saddle designs. They then turned to the Giganotosaurus. Their first metal-gate trap, set up a little after the three-hour mark, failed when the dinosaur pushed through, and later layouts, including ones found in online guides, fared no better. Several of their tamed dinosaurs were lost in the attempts, and Towa died more than once while luring the giant.
The trap that finally held was an old-style design, which she and Iroha had gone back to after the newer ones failed. Around 4:39 they loaded the giant with sedatives and meat, then kept it fed with narcotic berries and mutton until the taming bar filled. Chat called it a well-earned catch and praised the teamwork. The two named the new Giganotosaurus Cure Acco.
The work did not stop there. Building a saddle for the giant would take thousands of pieces of leather and fiber, so the group butchered sheep for hides, and a newer member who joined late took part in the ritual. They finished the saddle and took turns riding the Giganotosaurus around the map.
Towa closed the stream by saying she wanted to head to a jungle cave next, with the creatures Iroha had caught.
