Shirakami Fubuki Lays Her ARK Railway Over a Mountain and Down to Its Target Island
After a run of unlucky rolls, she also tamed a creature that inhales stone and wood, which chat compared to Kirby.
HOLOLIVE — Shirakami Fubuki carried her ARK railway over a mountain and down to the edge of its target island on Saturday, the main milestone of a stream of more than five and a half hours on Hololive’s shared server on the Ragnarok map. The line is meant to circle an island at the top right of the map. She said a loop around all of Ragnarok is out of reach in the time left, but that circling that one island would be a real romance.
Materials were the constraint. She said each rail piece costs 200 iron, and she spent much of the opening hours mining iron and raiding beaver dams for wood. By her count the server had about two weeks left. Around the 52-minute mark she showed the line to Watame, who agreed to produce the stone pillars that hold the track up. Fubuki joked that she had found a part-timer.
“ARK has so many bugs that you start to wonder whether an ARK without bugs is still ARK.” — Shirakami Fubuki, after another glitch
With 21 rail pieces that Choco, a fellow member, had prepared and a batch of 113 stone pillars, she pushed the track up the slope, fighting stuck pieces and a relog along the way. After a tip in chat about a snap setting that angles track downward, she took the line down the far side. She said she was a little moved to have reached the island’s entrance, then rode the train down the slope, where a single press of the forward key kept it rolling.
Later she turned to taming a creature that inhales stone, wood and metal. The method she pieced together from chat: take its vomit attacks under a shield until the debuff stacks three times, then feed its resource roulette. She called the keratin result the worst draw, and several rounds went wrong before she landed a low-level one at about 3 hours 8 minutes and named it Mogumogu Yummy. She then used it to vacuum up wood, stone, crystal and metal, and said the more it inhaled, the stronger it got.
Lag set in late in the stream, with her character and mount moving on their own. She restarted the game, then suspected her keyboard after the forward key kept registering. She ended the stream saying she would restart her PC, would keep her stone gatherers working for the next session, and invited viewers to visit Watame’s base to see how a mammoth taming turned out.
