NIJISANJI — Yashiro Kizuku, a Nijisanji (08Ex-SEEDs) streamer, unveiled his new 3D outfit on Saturday in a 68-minute stream built around a staged story, a visit to the offices of the company behind the mobile rhythm game Project Sekai, and a run of songs. The new look is a stylish suit with gold buttons, gloves and glasses, with his hair set back.
The stream opened with an animated skit in the manner of the boy who cried wolf. Yashiro kept telling the village his 3D outfit had arrived when it had not, until nobody came running. A giant wolf, played by Kuroi Shiba, then appeared, and Ange Katrina was among those who did not survive. Yashiro turned back time through a song, and the outfit was finally shown about 14 minutes in. Suo Sango, Lunlun and Kuroi Shiba also took part in the skit, which ended with Ange Katrina’s song bringing the cast back to life for a party.
“I really don’t get much screen time. Chat pointed out that it’s my new outfit and I’m barely on screen. They’re right.” — Yashiro Kizuku, on how little he appeared in his own outfit reveal
From about the 28-minute mark, Yashiro, who had complained of bad luck in the game’s gacha, or paid draw, made good on his habit of threatening to storm the company’s headquarters and went there with permission and a friend. The pair toured the lobby and fan-letter desks, then lost a challenge on a hard chart to a staff member who makes the game’s charts. They then met the company’s president, Kondo, who said that the main story reaching its planned end would not stop the characters’ stories, which would continue afterward. The rest of the interview is to be posted as a separate video.
Yashiro then turned to the rhythm-game music he grew up on. He sang two songs from the Beatmania series, which he said he started with, then brought out fellow Nijisanji talent Togawa Nonoha, a drummer who plays Sound Voltex. A video message from WAC, a composer for Konami’s rhythm games, followed, with congratulations on the outfit, a question-and-answer corner and talk of a pop’n music event character called Fever Robo. The stream closed with a song tied to that event and a live play that ended in a full combo.
Yashiro joked that the outfit barely appeared on screen, a point chat had raised, and said that showing what he enjoys is what a 3D reveal should be. Chat peaked at more than 1,000 messages a minute several times, and the stream drew 168 Super Chats and Stickers.
