Kemomimi Refle Clears First Stage of Escape from Playtime After 85 Blind Minutes
The group, playing the Poppy Playtime spinoff with no preparation, came within about 200 of the target on the second stage.
KEMOMIMI REFLE — Kemomimi Refle cleared the first stage of the co-op survival horror game Escape from Playtime on Saturday, about an hour and a half into a three-hour stream. The group went in with no preparation and said so at the outset: it was their first time with the game, and they had not looked up how to find the exit.
Escape from Playtime, a spinoff of the Poppy Playtime series, has players take the part of small toy characters trying to get out of the Playtime factory. The group explained that each run involves collecting toys and delivering them to a cart against a countdown, with a separate exit to find. A third warning ends the game. A teacher character, Miss Delight, patrols the facility, and the early runs were spent getting lost, being chased by robots and running out of flashlight battery. After a failed first attempt, the group went back to the tutorial room to learn how delivery worked, then returned to the main game.
“We finally understood it and cleared it.” — Kemomimi Refle, after the first clear
The first clear came after a run in which they worked out that items they picked up could be carried out. Moving on to the next stage, they met Miss Delight for the first time and tried a flashlight to hold her off. On the second stage they faced a target of 4,000 and reached about 3,800 before time ran out. They also said the low camera view left them motion sick.
After the last run they muted the game and talked over Discord, saying the collecting was fun but the chases and the long trips back to the cart were hard, and that they would like to play again once they were better at it. The rest of the stream drifted into chat about motion sickness, shooters and how they react when they lose a game. They signed off at about three hours.
Chat joined in with encouragement through the runs and applause for the clears.
