Quon Tama, a GuildCQ streamer, cleared her first Titan fight in Final Fantasy XIV on Monday and unlocked the Black Mage job later the same stream. She had been working toward the job for most of the evening and said she was glad to have done both.

The fifth entry in her Realm Reborn story playthrough picked up where the last one left off, with a quest to gather three rare delicacies for a special banquet. She took a goblin camp’s trouble through a dungeon run to bring back a pungent goblin cheese, then spent more than half an hour on a hunt for a top-grade wine that ended with a long-lost grape branch being found and a prized old bottle handed over. A feast followed, at which the veteran company’s leaders agreed to back the fight against Titan. She laughed that she was tired of errands and wanted to fight him already.

“I beat Titan and became a Black Mage, so I’m glad.” — Quon Tama, closing the stream

She entered the Titan battle at about the 1 hour 24 minute mark alongside other players, and praised the boss music. When the cutscene afterward ran long, she noticed the other players in the party had stayed put to let it finish. “They’re all waiting for me,” she said, thanking them and saying she was close to tears.

Later she turned to the Black Mage job, which she had mentioned wanting through the evening while still a thaumaturge at level 47. After a fight to win the job crystal, she became a Black Mage and noted she could now try other jobs too. She also wandered a Halloween-decorated city before signing off.

Chat marked the job change with congratulations. She closed the stream by saying she hoped to play more Final Fantasy XIV later in the week.
