Ono Tora Returns After a Move to Reflect on Overwatch Title and Preview Splatoon Event
The Nijisanji streamer, on his first broadcast since moving house, said his Splatoon streams would start the next day.
NIJISANJI — Ono Tora of Nijisanji returned to streaming Friday evening after four or five days away, using a *zatsudan*, or chat stream, to look back on the Overwatch tournament his team won and to move on to the next team event, a Splatoon tournament. It was his first broadcast since moving house.
He said the days after the tournament left him drained and that he had rewatched the matches, including the points of view of his coach and teammates. In the last round, he said, he used his ultimate in a spot he had practiced, and the opposing team spent two ultimates on him, which he counted as a contribution to the win. A senior teammate had told him he was the round’s MVP, he said, and that meant a lot. “Results matter a great deal, but what matters most to me is the process leading up to the result,” he said, adding that he never found practice painful and that he wanted to be someone who pulls a team along, as his teammates had done for him.

He then turned to the Splatoon tournament, saying he had seen the tier chart a senior had made and felt he was rated lower than he would like. His goal, he said, was to get better rather than to climb the ranks, and he said his Splatoon streams would begin the next day. Animal Crossing, he added, would have to wait.
The rest of the three-hour stream wandered through the usual territory. He described a new room filled with plush toys, Pokemon and Dragon Quest figures that he said had improved the echo viewers complained about earlier in the day, and he talked about collecting retro Pokemon clocks. He told of peeling part of his floor with a water-base punching bag, which he called a lesson, and of his plan to make yudofu, or tofu hot pot, the next morning. Talk of his family’s short lifespans, with the longest on record around 71, led him to say he intended to be the exception, as Joseph is in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. He closed by saying the channel had reached 125,000 subscribers, and chat sent congratulations. The stream drew 13 Super Chats.
