Sinon Sinfonia Drops “Seiso Siren” for “Shameless Siren” at the Start of Year Two
The Phase Connect streamer made the switch during a StarCraft stream, a day after her first-anniversary broadcast, then played one-on-one games against viewers.
PHASE CONNECT — Sinon Sinfonia of Phase Connect said she would drop the “seiso siren” label she has carried since her debut and go by “shameless siren” from now on. She announced the change during a StarCraft stream a day after her first-anniversary broadcast. “Seiso” is Japanese for pure or demure, the image fans have long joked she does not live up to.
The change grew out of a long talk segment that filled the first stretch of the stream. She opened by playing a fan-made song that had been posted after she asked viewers for content during the anniversary stream. Its title and refrain were “shameless siren”, and its lyrics drew on stories she told that night. She said she would sing it live for the person who wrote it. Chat then argued over who was really seiso, and she insisted the stories were not chat’s doing but her own.
“I’m going to call myself a shameless siren from now on.” — Sinon Sinfonia, on her second year
As chat kept piling on, she said it had been a year and it was time to move on. “Shame is only for whimsies,” she said, and told viewers she would use the new line in her introductions. She also joked that the cycle was repeating: a debut, a mistake, a scolding, an attempt to be seiso again, and now an anniversary with more mistakes.
After about an hour and 20 minutes of talk, she moved to StarCraft on the Fastest map. She played one-on-one against viewers and told a group of arriving raiders that she was playing against chat. She said she had prepared by watching videos and downloading the map. By the 2:42 mark she said she had won five in a row. Chat teased her with the game’s unit voice lines, and one viewer called her a “pro toxic gamer.” The stream drew 61 Super Chats.
She closed with a long chat segment. She said a vlog from a Maple Story escape room is due in the first week of November and that she has started practicing singing again for a karaoke stream. She also said she plans a 3D stream with a fan-made model, in which she would try a couple of songs if it goes well.
