Ouro Kronii Plays Carrion’s Flesh Monster as a Gentle One, Sparing Some Guards
Streaming from a relatives’ house on a trip, she spent more than three hours breaching a research facility and said she plans to finish the game this year.
HOLOLIVE — Ouro Kronii played the first stretch of the horror game Carrion, taking the role of a shapeless flesh monster tearing through a research facility, and played it as a creature that apologizes while it eats. “Hey, don’t do that,” she told guards who opened fire. “I didn’t want to.”
The Hololive English -Promise- member streamed from her relatives’ house while traveling, on a bulkier travel microphone. She had said she had wanted to play the game, made by Phobia Game Studio, for a while, calling it rare to get to play as an anti-hero. The start was rocky: the audio dropped out and the game appeared zoomed in, and she went full screen to fix it before the game began in earnest. “I am a professional. Please hold,” she said.
“I’m a gentle monster.” — Ouro Kronii, early in the game
Once in the game, she narrated the creature’s growth and its tools, from turning invisible to morphing into a swarm of worms to taking control of other organisms. She spared some people and ate others, and she joked that the survivors would need a group therapy session and might discuss how merciful she had been. “I’m playing this like I’m an empath and maybe that’s the issue,” she said, saying the creature would be scarier as a sociopath. Late in the stream she floated a theory that the monster was the child of an earlier creature, which she called “Carrion’s dad.”
Chat answered in kind. Viewers asked whether she would eat them, said the game might be scarier if she could talk, and cheered her on through the screen trouble. The stream drew 78 Super Chats and Stickers.
She saved after about three hours and 20 minutes and said she would pick the game back up and finish it this year, hopefully once she is home. Her family had asked whether she wanted to come along to the mall, and she signed off to go find something to eat.
