Memento Vanitas Mixes Up a Requested Song, Sings It Anyway, Then Delivers the Right One

RIOT MUSIC — Memento Vanitas of Riot Music (aaMugensho Record) began to sing the wrong song on Tuesday after a viewer asked for “Kesera Sera” with a Super Chat. The singer announced the request, started in, then stopped, saying it was “Lilac,” a different song, and that it was a mistake. After apologizing, Memento Vanitas sang “Lilac” through to the end, then went back and performed “Kesera Sera” as asked.

The stream was unannounced and ran about two hours. Memento Vanitas opened by thanking viewers for turning up on short notice, then spent the first stretch chatting about being tired: a vending machine that turned out to be sold out after repeated button presses, and other things done absentmindedly when worn out. The talk ran so long that the singer asked what they had come to do, and answered that it was to sing. Songs began only after reading a Super Chat about a horse race and a viewer’s tip.

“If this sounds cute, you all apologize.” — Memento Vanitas, before singing in a cute voice

Later, after chat joked about the singer’s voice, Memento Vanitas said they could sing in a cute voice too, and challenged viewers to apologize if it sounded cute. A string of apologies filled chat once the song ended. A Super Chat from a first-time viewer then asked where the cute-voiced woman had gone. Memento Vanitas also stepped away briefly to check the dryer, a nod to the stream’s title, which said it would run until the laundry was done.

The stream’s busiest moments came near the end. Chat chanted the call-and-response of a PreCure song along with the singer, and the closing farewells followed. Across the stream, viewers sent 30 Super Chats and Stickers.

Memento Vanitas said there would be a stream on Wednesday that might turn into a collab, then added that if it did not, viewers should take it as having fallen through.
